London Yacht Show annuleert 2019 editie

De London Yacht Show blaast de editie van 2019 af en verschuift deze naar 2020. Organisator Informa noemt als reden voor de verplaatsing “to ensure the delivery of a high quality on-water show, with the scale and breadth to attract full participation of the industries it is aimed at.”

Het evenement was eerder al omgedoopt van London On water Show tot London Yacht Show om meer focus te leggen op het luxere segment in de boot(benodigdheden)industrie. De London Yacht Show zou plaatsvinden van 8 tot en met 12 mei 2019.

Andrew Williams, directeur van Maritime Group legt uit: “Since an initial burst of interest in the London Yacht Show, take-up has slowed from some segments of the industry and from luxury brands.
And so, with just over a month to go until the planned launch, overall commitment to the event is not at the level required to deliver a show with the profile, scale and market breadth the industry asked for and deserves in London.

Following extensive consultation with key stakeholders, we therefore believe it is in everyone’s interest to postpone the show until next year.”

Ook voegde Williams toe dat het team er nu met volle kracht tegenaan gaat om van de 2020-editie een succes te maken.
